According to Andy, having a vision or a dream, pegged against a realistic timeline, has become one of the keys to his success. In his opinion, “A small dream is a dream; a big dream is also a dream. One might as well dream big.”
Apart from dreaming dreams, Andy believes that a successful entrepreneur must also be focused, determined and disciplined. For when the team was met with slow results at the beginning, it was these qualities that enabled Andy and his team to pull through the rough patch and ultimately achieved a breakthrough. By believing in oneself and being susceptible to changes, Andy also equips himself with the confidence to move ahead with times and stay relevant in his business, in order to arrive at his goals.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. This saying probably best describes Sivakumar’s career path when he risked the seeming stability of a deskbound job in his mid career, to pursue a profession in financial planning.
Instead of leaving the course of his life to fate, Sivakumar subscribes to the school of thought that his destiny lies in his hands. According to him, “You chart your own destiny. In this industry, you take destiny in your own hands as you alone decide how much you would earn.”
Benjamin is someone who has high expectations on himself and does not compromise on his standards unnecessarily. He does not concede to obstacles, but view each as hurdle that tests his threshold to react and rise above all odds. In life, building his financial portfolio is one way that Benjamin strikes out to put to test his capacity.
With his eyes set on the outdoing himself professionally, Benjamin is someone who is poised for much greater things ahead. He is someone who creates opportunities, not find them. He is someone who has played well his cards dealt in life.
According to Evelyn, “As a financial adviser, I could at most touch 365 lives if I were to reach out to one client, a day. But as a manager, I am able to lead a group of like-minded individuals who can go out there and touch even more lives.”
As a manager who spearheads a team, Evelyn acknowledges the value of working hard not only as an individual, but more importantly, as a group. Recognizing that no one is alone on their career journey in this industry, Evelyn enjoys the dynamics of working closely with a team of driven individuals to achieve a common result.
Kaden first joined the industry while he was pursuing a part-time degree. After a year into the profession, Kaden knew he wanted to carve out a life-long career in financial planning and made the difficult decision of withdrawing from his studies. While this action went against the deeply-entrenched notion that education is needed for success, his level of success today has proven his decision to be the right one.
Kaden became a unit manager in Forte even before reaching his thirties, and has recorded levels of success that many can only envy. Today, he is fronting a team that is growing at a staggering pace. Kaden intends to groom leaders within his team and eventually assume the role of group director.
A certified Associate Financial Consultant (AFC), and also trained in the area of counseling, Evelyn possesses sound financial knowledge, but is not all business towards her clients and partners. She is people-centric in her business approach and pays attention to the needs and wants of clients. She attributes her success to hard work and notes that the initial years in the financial services industry is always more daunting. In fact, one needs to be more resolute when starting out in this particular industry and hard work is pertinent to building a foundation that one would leverage on later.
Apart from hard work, Evelyn recognizes discipline to be another essential attribute for success. Evelyn feels that these traits separate committed advisers who recognize the importance of stepping into the office to pick up the ropes and build connections, from those who are just waiting for results to happen. Evelyn knew her efforts had finally paid off when she rounded up 300 portfolios, just years into the industry.
